Talk to General Physician on Motion
Asking For Mother, Female 55, karachi
hello im posting on behalf of my aunt age 56 she is having fever flu cough . probably she is a covid patient but she has not been tested .. she is having symptomatic treatments and her symptoms are mild .. in addition to this she also has motion .. she normally takes flagyl for this problem in her daily life .. now the matter of concern is that can she have flagyl .. she does not want to take any tblet which can lower her immunity .. please guide me whether she can take it or not ..
AOA! Is she having any chronic disease like hypertension or Diabetes?? Symptomatic treatment for her fever and cough is fine as long as she is not having any breathing trouble. Self medication with flagyl is not advisable in daily life for any loose motion.Most of loose motions are cured on its own in just 1-2 days .She should have good fluid intake and light diet. but if motions persist for more than 2 days , and are frequent , with some mucous and abdominal pain then she can start Flagyl 500mg three times a day for 5 days . If you are suspecting corona related flu then Azithromycin 500 mg once daily for 3 days can be given to her. She is advised for self isolation at home too.
