Talk to General Physician on Viral Fever
Asking for Self, Male, 23 years old, Karachi
Day 1: High fever (102-103 F) started in the morning along with headache, body and throat pain. Doctor suggested antibiotics and paracetamol and asked me to isolate at home. He asked me to get Covid PCR test if fever persists for 3 days. Fever used to start again 4-5 hours after taking Paracetamol.
Day 2: No Fever even without paracetamol. Throat pain is still there.
Should I still remain isolated. If yes, for how long?

a) Yes, you should self isolate for 14 days. Meaning wear mask if in same room with others; avoid touching others; maintain 6 feet distance from all others. Your dishes and clothes can be washed normally with rest of household. Do not take meals sitting at same table, eat separately from others.
b) antibiotics should not be started or taken for fever less than 2 days.
