Breast Feeding

Question

I am a 1st time mother of a 5 days old baby.

My breastmilk supply is fine but the problem is my nipples are cracked and i saw a red dot type thing in one of the nipples. Pain is so unbearable tht i hv to unwillingly bottle feed my newborn every 3 hours

Can a doctor guide or prescribe an ointment/ lotion/ anything?

u can apply ur own feed on cracked nipples it helps a lot bedide that bepanthen cream is good

various chemical soothing cremes r available over the counter tht claim to b safe fr the baby...but encourage my patients to use natural moisturizers wch if ingested by the babies ll b harmless in any case...it cud b oil/ghee/butter etc...make sure u use alternate breasts fr feeding...try to giv full nipple to the baby...half nipples wn suckled do crack...hope this home remedy works fr u...
