Asking for Other, Female, 28 years old, Karachi

I am 35weeks and My dr has perscribed daonil 5mg wd meal along wd 850mg glucophage before bedtime for gestational diabetes, as i was having uncontrolled fasting sugar.. i have done research and found tht sufonylureas can cause neonatal hypoglycemia. I am scared and confused wat should i do? Is it true or not? Should i ask my doctor to switch me onto other medcn than daonil ?

Aoa
u r thirty five plus already-due to ur DM baby has a risk of hypoglycemia...better discuss with ur OBG the option of induction at thirty seven...also make sure tht u deliver at a hospital where neonatologist is there to attend to the baby and deal wth an emergency situation...rem uncontrolled DM at this stage has many more complications...instead of oral hypoglycemics discuss the use of injectable insulin...they r a lil safer...
all the best...
