Talk to Gynecologist on Is GTT Test Compulsory In Pregnancy

I live in UAE, this is my 3rd pregnancy,I never had experience any diabetes or gestational diabetes in my previous pregnancy, nor it is in my family history.and I have no such complications in my current pregnancy. Here my medical insurance is not covering this test,and its little expensive here. so I want to know, is this test is compulsory to be done ? is just random sugar test not enough? my pregnancy is so smooth as well.

at the time I am 24weeks pregnant, current weight is 74.9kgs
my first baby born at 38weeks with 2.9kgs
second baby boran at 39weeks with 3.2kgs.

your BMI is 30.2 kg/sq.m
it is very overweight
that is the reason the doctor has advised GTT.
if it is too expensive, you should at least get fasting sugar, sugar 1 hour after meal and sugar 2 hours after meal checked.
