Talk to Psychiatry on Anxiety/ Mood Disorder
Asking For Someone else, Other, Male, 27 Years old, lhr
The patient has a history of anxiety disorder and is on Lamnet from more than 6 months , now the problem is patient doesnt want to go to psychiatrist for further more sessions (he has been going in the past), the dr. said once that lamnet has to be taken atleast 6 months even if the patient doesnt come, now i want to know how can we taper off the medication or can it be stopped suddenly without any withdrawal symptoms, the current dose is lamnet 100mg , please any dr. guide me
Patient’s current mental state and anxiety symptoms needs to be evaluated, How was the response of this drug in reducing his/ her anxiety symptoms.. tapering is usually done over period of 3 months slowly. Take consultation through marham i ll guide you further

The symptoms are better now , basically it was also given as a mood stabilizer because the mood of patient used to fluctuate very badly but now its much better, im afraid that after tapering the symptoms might come back , what to do ...are 6 months enough for this medicine

Ok if there are no mood symptoms, sleep is adequate and anxiety symptoms are subsided , then gradually tapering is done . Reduce dose by 25 mg over period of 3 months, Its best to consult so that treatment plan is addressed properly
